Plextor PX-B950SA Internal Blu-ray Writer
Plextor hits back with a new internal Blu-ray writer, the PX-B950SA. Coming in a 5.25-inch form factor, the drive features an 8MB of cache memory, a SATA connection interface and provides write speeds of 12x for BD-R, 8x for BD-R DL, 2x for BD-RE (DL), 16x for DVD-R/+R, 6x for DVD+RW, 12x for DVD-RW and 48x for CD-R. Pioneer BDR-207JBK 6X BDXL Burner
Pioneer Japan has rolled out the BDR-207JBK 6x BDXL burner. Priced at 18,000 Yen ($230), the Blu-ray burner adopts the company’s PureRead2 and Peak Power Reducer technology. The BDR-207JBK is able to burn BD dual layer at 12x speed and BD-R XL QL (quad layer) at 6x speed. Too bad, there is no info on pricing at this moment. [Akihabara]
