Rachel Ilan Simpson has designed the Transparent Universal Translator concept that allows users to have a better understanding of the world around them. The gadget provides three modes including the Window mode, Text mode and Speech mode. In the Window mode, you can point a transparent piece of plastic display to an object, and a database of information will identify it. Meanwhile, the Text mode translates signs, papers, or any other lettered material. And finally, the Speech mode translates the spoken word in real time.
