Word has it that the upcoming nVidia Geforce GTX 460 will be priced as low as $199 for the 768MB model, and the 1024MB model will retail for $229. The nVidia Geforce GTX 460 provides 336 CUDA cores, 675MHz core clock speed, 768MB memory with clock speed of 3600MHz and shader clock speed of 1350MHz. The 768MB nVidia Geforce GTX 460 should perform better than its closest competitor, the $230 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5830. The 1GB nVidia Geforce GTX 460 may cost the same but could be much more capable than the ATI offering based on its specs. Both graphics cards will be launched on July 12, 2010 though this isn’t official. [Electronista]
